Wire and foil may both serve conductive, shielding and flexible-connection applications, but their manufacturing and feeding conditions are different. Wire procurement centers on diameter, temper, spool type, spool weight and surface condition; foil procurement is more sensitive to thickness, slit width, coil ID, temper, edge condition and oxidation.

Where slitting, rewinding or annealing is required, the final delivery form should be agreed before production. Stating the customer’s feeding method, acceptable coil weight and packaging protection reduces the need for respooling, recoiling or corrective edge and surface work after receipt.
