HVAC Copper Capillary Tube: Control Size, Cleanliness and End Protection Together

Capillary copper tube is used in refrigeration service, instrument lines and small heat-transfer connections. With small OD and thin wall, the application is more sensitive to internal-dimension consistency, cleanliness and undamaged ends. The RFQ should establish the required C12200/C10200 grade first, then OD, ID or wall thickness, temper and coil or straight delivery form.

For coil supply, define coil length, coil handling and packaging in line with downstream unwinding or installation. For straight lengths, specify cut length and end protection. Refrigeration applications should also state cleanliness, sealing and packaging-preservation requirements so the material can move into use with minimal corrective cleaning or end repair.

Dimensional definition

Specify OD, ID or wall thickness, temper, coil/straight form and length instead of using “capillary tube” as the full specification.

Cleanliness & ends

For HVAC or instrument use, define internal cleanliness, end protection and any sealing requirement together with packaging.

Packaging & delivery

Protect coils against compression and define straight-length/end protection as applicable; final acceptance remains order- and service-specific.
